Luc Jalbert has been Entrepreneur in Residence at CARDE since 2014.
A native of Montreal, Luc Jalbert has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing. Having already founded several companies in the past, his passionate character and enthusiasm have marked his professional career and his entrepreneurial spirit. He is playful, funny, but also passionate about the problem of annoying odors in the toilet, which he always approaches with a touch of humor.
It was in 1999 that Luc Jalbert and his business partner Don Goguen created Prelam Enterprises, a company specializing in air fresheners. Combining more than 40 years of experience between them, Luc and Don succeeded in developing their market in Canada thanks to products such as Funky Monkey, Aromatherapy or Eclypse.
In 2004 Luc returned from a trip to China with a small bottle of toilet deodorant. From the hard work of the Prelam team was born the Just a Drop toilet odor eliminator, which is now sold in major chain stores such as Wal-Mart, Loblaws, Zellers, Shopper Drug Mart as well as international, notably in the United States, Barbados, South Africa, Mexico, Chile and China.
Luc was able to attract the attention of the media thanks to the promotional stunt he developed for the launch of his new product. This consisted of making New York passers-by sit on a toilet placed in the middle of Times Square. This promotion was so successful that Luc received extensive media coverage including an interview broadcast on Howard Stern's national radio show.
Luc has also appeared twice on CNBC's The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch and was voted one of the most popular entrepreneurs on CBC's Venture. As for Just a Drop, the odor eliminator has been seen in TV shows such as Dr. Oz or The Doctors. In addition, many articles about the Prelam company and the entry of Just a Drop into the world of air cleaning giants have been published in various newspapers and magazines.
Always in search of innovation, in 2009, Luc created the sheets of laundry detergent Dizolve, completely soluble in water, and the company Dizolve Group Corporation, and won the prize of the emerging exporter of the year!
From 2012 to 2021, our tireless entrepreneur brought together all his knowledge in odor control to create several new products and services, with many more coming soon!
